Mosquito Time offers eco-friendly mosquito treatment options for Ann Arbor homeowners who prefer natural and organic pest control solutions. Our plant-based treatments use active ingredients derived from chrysanthemums, cedar, and other natural sources to repel and eliminate mosquitoes without synthetic chemicals.

Our eco-friendly treatment uses pyrethrins — natural insecticides extracted from chrysanthemum flowers — combined with essential oils including cedar, lemongrass, and rosemary. These botanically-derived ingredients have been used for pest control for centuries and are approved by the EPA for residential use. They break down quickly in the environment, reducing impact on beneficial insects when applied properly.

The eco-friendly treatment is applied using the same professional equipment and techniques as our conventional barrier spray. Our technicians target the same mosquito harborage areas — shaded foliage, under decks, fence lines, and vegetation around your property perimeter. The primary difference is in the active ingredients used.

It's important to set realistic expectations with natural treatments. While our eco-friendly option significantly reduces mosquito populations, it typically provides protection for 14 to 17 days compared to 21 days for conventional treatments. Some customers on eco-friendly seasonal plans choose to schedule treatments every 14 days (10 visits) rather than every 21 days (7 visits) for more consistent protection.

Eco-friendly treatments are priced the same as conventional barrier sprays: one-time treatments start at $99 for properties under 1/4 acre, and seasonal plan visits start at $79 per visit. The same property size tiers and pricing structure apply.

This option is particularly popular with families who have young children who play on treated grass, pet owners concerned about chemical exposure, households with fish ponds or water gardens, properties adjacent to the Huron River or sensitive wetland areas, and organic gardeners who want to protect pollinator-friendly plantings.

We can also customize a hybrid approach — using eco-friendly treatments during peak outdoor activity months and conventional treatments early and late in the season when mosquito pressure is highest and outdoor time is lower. Your technician can help you design a plan that balances effectiveness with your environmental priorities.

All eco-friendly treatments include the same service guarantee as our conventional options. If you're not satisfied with the level of mosquito reduction between treatments, we'll schedule a complimentary re-treatment.
